Pee Wee Rural City A Provincials

March 12-14, 2010 - Steinbach hosting Pee Wee Rural City A Provincials

Steinbach Centennial and TG Smith Arenas will again be busy the weekend of March 12th as the Steinbach Millers Pee Wee B team hosts 9 teams from Manitoba for the Pee Wee Rural City A Provincials.

Friday, March 12th

10:00 am - Pee Wee Provincial round robin games commence (Game #1 Morden vs. Steinbach)

3:00 pm - Opening Ceremonies at Centennial Arena

4:00 pm - Game #4 Steinbach vs. Dauphin

Saturday, March 13th

9:00 am - Pee Wee Provincial round robin games commence and run the duration of the day

Sunday, March 14th

9:30 am - Semi-Final Game (Centennial)

9:45 am - Semi-Final Game (TG)

11:15 am - Consolation Final Game

1:00 pm - Bronze Medal Game

3:00 pm - Gold Medal Game

Teams involved in the tournament are: Steinbach, Morden, Thompson, The Pas, Dauphin, Winkler, Portage, Brandon & Swan River. Welcome these players to our city if you meet them in restaurants and other places around Steinbach.

The hosting of Provincials and other sporting tournaments bring many visitors to our community. Steinbach has proven what a great host city we are!  Looking forward to a great weekend of hockey!

Steinbach Fall Hockey Camps

February 23, 2010 - Steinbach Fall Hockey Camps is pleased to announce that Robby Glantz will again be running all our 2010 Fall Hockey Camps. Robby Glantz runs the hockey camps similar to the Edge of Excellence Program (he assisted in creating that program). Check out his website at www.robbyglantz.com

ALL camps will run the week of August 29, 2010. CAMP SCHEDULE will be coming out shortly.

Steinbach Atom B1 Win GOLD at RCA Provincials!

March 7, 2010 - Our Steinbach Millers Atom B1 team hosted a successful Atom RCA Provincials this past weekend. Both Atom B teams participated in this weekends Provincials and here are the results:

Atom B1

The Steinbach Atom B1 team won both their games on Friday giving them a 'buy' to the semi-finals on Sunday morning. They defeated Thomspon 4-0 in the semi-final game to advance them to meet Portage in the gold medal game. After 3 periods of 'nail-biting' regulation hockey the teams tied at 4 putting them into a sudden death 10 minute overtime. The teams remained tied after the overtime period forcing them into a second 20 minute sudden death overtime. Steinbach scored the winning goal 3:06 minutes into overtime to win the GOLD medal! Congratulations to Steinbach Atom B1 on your gold medal!!

Atom B2

The Atom B2 team lost their first two round robin games on Friday which had them playing Dauphin in a quarter-final game on Saturday morning. Steinbach Atom B2 defeated Dauphin 6-2 and as a result of that win, had them moving on to meet Morden Black on Sunday afternoon. After 3 periods of regulation play, the teams were tied at 2 forcing them into a 10 minute sudden death overtime. With just 17 seconds remaining in the overtime period, Morden scored to win the game. Congratulations to the Steinbach Atom B2 team for your strong representation in the Atom RCA Provincials!
